Bring it on!
Might have to give this a bash.
Would it be possible to compete in this on a hard tail?
Just finished reading up on this, sounds great
Where can I get this one day cycling license from?
Cheers Barry![]()
Yeah its possible to race this event on a hardtail but best suited to a short travel bike. One day liciences available at the event.
Update on the Irish Enduro Champs:
We now have 6 fully loaded stages. Singletrack heaven!! Stages are between 2.5 and 5 mins at race pace in the dry. A big fat zero on the fire road climbs within the stages!! The transitions are on fire road and should take no more than 15 mins. A lap time of around 2.5hrs so the legs will be fresh for the important bits. All set for good close racing and the way it has been designed we should have different riders winning stages.
Entries are now open and you DO NOT need a licence to register. At sign on at the event you will have the chance to purchase a one day licence if you do not already have a full licence. All titles in each category are up for grabs if you are racing.
Get training, get practicing and get signed up!!

WTF , is it possible to unsee things ?
class, whos the girl, hannah barnes?
Done, now where do I get my complimentary blondie?!
Just home and sat down after a wicked day riding in Bigwood. We had a good crew out there today and the feedback was very positive. We have achieved a really good mix of fun, challenging stages. There really is plenty there to keep us all on our toes with a guaranteed smile on your face. The transitions are surprisingly short for what you get back on the descents. We have tons of prizes for each category from CRC, Nukeproof, Amphibian sports and more. There is a sweet Irish Enduro Champ jersey for each category winner and some hand crafted trophies for the top 3 in each cat. Also 3 holidays to Spain to give away at random from Switch-backs. The venue and setting will take your breath away, the race village, camping/ parking are at the back of Narrow Water Castle with awesome views of Carlingford Lough. Squeezy nutrition and little Big Shot will be there to keep us fueled for the weekend and there will also be hot food stall's on site. DJ's are lined up and your lunch is covered in your entry fee for Sunday. Goodie bags for everyone at sign on. (the list is still going!!!) Tracey from Dundalk Injury clinic will be there to massage your sore legs on sat afternoon and Sunday. CRC will have a mechanic on site to make sure your bike is running sweet. The Canal Court Hotel is doing us an offer that weekend so just pop 'enduro' into the discount box.
A few other things to note are: this race is part of the Gravity Enduro Series so points from this round count. Full Cycling Ireland licence holders or day licence holders that are resident here qualify for the title, the fastest riders in each cat will get the trophies etc but if we do get over sea visitors it will be the fastest Irish rider that takes the jersey and title. (I hope this is clear now!)
Feel free to add to my list if you can think of any and any questions just ask. Ohh yeah the after party will be in the Canal Court (Newry) shortly after the prize giving.
Was wondering if the big tree that has fallen near the top of the Downhill race track (just after the big bombhole) is goin to interfere with the race. Ive been meanin to get take the head off it with the saw but havent got round to it.
We had a 20 strong crew out in Bigwood on Saturday putting the finishing touches to the trails. That tree is now gone, chopped up and will be in my fire this winter.

Sorry for sounding dumb, but what kind of racing is the irish enduro champs? Also what sort of bikes are everyone using for this kind of race, ie, full suspension, hardtail, long travil suspension, carbon frames etc etc???
Thanks Neil.
