Time to kill round Belfast area

I have a few hours to kill round Belfast area on Thursday and Friday evening and was thinking of bringing the bike and hitting a trail or two.

Can anyone recommend some trails? Initially was thinking cavehill but am open to other suggestions.

It would be good if you park up at shaws bridge and if someone could show you how to loop Belvoir / Marypeters / Lady Dixon and up to do the YOC run back to shaws bridge then a mess about in belvoir before you go home.

Someone might know GPS routes and share them with you, but heading out with someone is way more beneficial. IMO this is a real nice mix of singleytrack, berms, jumps and climbs.

Sounds like a possibility but as you say I would probably need a guide. Anyone up for a spin?

Not sure I would be able to keep up with you on a training run but can give it a go. Worst case scenario I get to find the start of at least one trail. Where are you thinking of going?

Good stuff you can get some training in too then

Ill be at Shaws at say 4.45 - 5pm. Then just do a tour of the trails from there. Absolutely nothing to worry about.

Yeah, I decided that I was not fit enough for the racing and was getting more enjoyment out of messing about on the trails. Will probably give it another try at some point, probably a gravity enduro race or something like that.

I will not have to worry to much about Aul Han as I will most likely only see him in the car park then watch as he disappears down the first trail while I struggle for breath after about 5 min of his 'warmup' pace.

Aul Han unfortunately something has come up at the last min and I won't be able to make it this evening.

    Maybe some other time.

Ah man that's a pity, hope alls well.

If anything changes tho and you find you can make it I'll still be going, it's just a wee stretch the legs run after all.
