  1. Thumbs up TrailBadger.com Trip to Scotland

Just a quick note to say that TrailBadger.com led a posse of 11 folks to the 7 Stanes last weekend, and had a fantastic trip in unbroken sunshine for all 3 days of pedalling.

We rode Mabie on Friday - the Kona Dark Side northshore area is worth a visit if you like it REALLY technical, but you would HATE it if you are not into slow, tricky, 'balancy' stuff.

We rode Glentress for the following 2 days - we had planned to do Innerleithen and Dalbeattie or Kirroughtree on the way back, but Glentress was so good, we just could not leave the place. Aside from the superb red route (2 reds are better than 1 black, we think), the free-ride park is brilliant fun for folks of all skill levels to practice jumps and drops and just have a laugh without much effort or danger.

Anyone heading to Glentress & Innerleithen, a GREAT spot to stay is the Cross Keys Hotel in Peebles.

Ewan (who runs the place) is a real gent, it is right in the town, is within spitting distance of the trails, and the rooms including breakfast worked out at £22 a head (we took the 2 bunkrooms and a triple, and there were still 2 beds to spare). The place has a bike store and somewhere to chuck all yer biking guff.

    Brilliant!!

    When are we going back?

We did Innerleithen the last time we were over, but at that stage, the freeride guff was not all finished. We are no freeriders, but it was SUPERB craic, and we could just not drag ourselves away!

Anyhoo, my front wheel was damaged by a dodgy servicing, and I did not trust it to make the full run over at Inners!
