Further trail development down South.
Mar 10, 2010 - 1:43 PM - by ColB

Barnett Demesne/ Mary Peters - mountain bike trail development
Feb 10, 2010 - 6:25 PM - by Steveb
Urgent Press Release from CAAN

We are in the initial stages of getting funding to develop up to 10kms of singletrack mountain bike trails and an associated jump/ skills area, in and around Barnett Demesne/ Mary Peters on land belonging to Belfast City Council.

An application has been submitted to Lagan Rural Partnership through the Rural Development Programme under Measure 3.3 - encouragement of tourist activities. One of the things the Partnership has asked for is evidence of a need/ demand for this project.

We know there are loads of bikers using this area and even more bikers who would use this area if the project was developed.

Therefore, if you think there is a need/ demand for this project, please can you help by submitting a letter to me asap. The more letters showing a need/ demand the better.

Letters may come from individuals/ bike shops/ clubs etc and should highlight a need/ demand for the... [Read More]
