Timber harvesting operations will be ongoing in Moneyscalp from January
2005, operations are expected to last 18 weeks. Signs have been erected warning ursers of the obvious dangers, please observe them. Be aware that timber lorries are using the forest road Monday to Saturday, this is a potental area of conflict and everyone is asked to take great care.

During harvesting the normal operational signs will be put in place prohibiting access to the actual work site for obvious safety reasons. It is not intended to close the whole of Moneyscalp to public access during this time, however there is a concern that the forest road that runs from the Tullyree Road up to the work site will be in constant use by timber lorries. This could cause he possibility of conflict between hauliers and mountain bikes on this section of road. Hauliers have been informed of this and have been asked be vigilant for mountain bikers, it is hoped that by informing other users the likelihood of any conflict will be minimised.

Timber harvesting is a crucual part of the upkeep and financing of the forest, it must be carried out. if during this time, it becomes apparent that the controls put in place are not sufficient it will be necessary to close Moneyscalp for the duration of the contract. I nlight of this all users are asked to obey the signs and use the road and forest with due care, attention and respect to those who are THERE TO carrying a job of work.
