Please note: The buy and sell forum is for regulars only. You must reach at least 25 posts to the other forums before being able to list an item in the buy and sell. Users with less posts can still reply to others threads.
The classifieds is a place to buy and sell items, to do this is really very simply but to help those who seem to not grasped the obvious here are a few guidelines.
For sellers:
1. Always give a full and accurate description of what your selling: Class wee hardtail for sale is NOT a description, such threads will be deleted.
2. Pictures of the actual item being sold always help.
3. Always include a price. Asking for offers just wastes everyone’s time.
4. If it's not sold constantly bumping it to the top will not help. Normally it's best to start a new thread with a lower price.
5. Threads along the lines of Thinking of selling my bike is the next year, anyone interested? will be removed. So will threads asking what something is worth.
5. When the item is sold say so at the end of the thread, then a mod can close the thread.
For buyers:
1. Making silly low offers, like £50 when the seller is asking £500 might seem funny, but it's just annoying, please don’t.
2. Don't post to the thread unless you are a serious buyer.
3. Asking for pictures on every thread again might seem funny, but again it's just annoying. Don't.
4. It is up to the seller to decide how much they want for an item, likewise it's upto a buyer to offer what they think it's worth. Posting on a thread just to tell everyone you think the price is wrong is pointless. Don't.
5. The seller has the item for sale now, offering to buy it in a year or 18 months if you can get the money together is pointless. If you really must do it, use the PM facility.
6. In most cases it's best to do negotiations via PM, this stops a thread becoming clogged up and is better for the seller.
Please stick to these very simply guidelines and the classified will be a better place to do business for all users. Anyone failing to do so will have their threads removed.
