Well it started on saturday 14th may when i hooked up with the Buckeejit crew and the Belfast homeboys at there local trails. For over a month a had been busting to do a shoot on the irish dirt jump talent and when the day arrived i was in my glory. With over 15 riders and 3 locations it was a day to remember.

First stop of the day was at the buckeejit trails which is set in a quarry. On route i met with gor and scotty who just happend to live close by, and of to the quarry we went. On arrival Christy and Davy were preparing the jumps, it was a real hot day and the jumps were very dusty so buckets of water soon sorted that out....nothing worse than getting dust in your eyes on a set of doubles. The guys showed me around and i was very impressed with what i was showen, dirt jumps, drops and even a bit of northshore skinny....love it! Woosh!!!!! Davy has started before i even get the camera out then they were all at it.

These guys were determind to get going so the shoot began. Jump after jump, trick after trick, it was none stop. Scotty on his hardtail and only 15 years old has some serious styleee along with sweet as bar spins,no footers and flat and i mean flat table tops, this young guy will go along way if he keeps at it. Christy with his barspins was mind blowing. Davy i noticed was just starting to learn tricks (he's alot better at dh/drops) but he has masterd the no handers, he even managed to give me the finger in mid-air...bugger ye!!! Gor was having a bit of bother warming up but when he got going he impressed the hell out of me with some of the best lookback wips ive ever seen. Hey stevie wanna see a drop??? Hell yea....it was drop time. This drop is a biggy, about 8ft high with a distance of 15/18ft. The run-in was flat and the run-out was short and sketchy but that didnt stop christy from hitting it, and hit it he did, nailed it clean 1st time. Gor was up next with a practice run up then of he goes, nailed!! Davy coudnt resist so on with the pads and of he goes, nailed!!! I love watching and also doing drops myself and this was just awseome to see. The shoot was coming to an end as we were to make are way to the next location. A few more jumps 1st i was told. These guys are all under 17 years old and if they stick at it they will go along way, mark my words. Especially scotty for dirt jumping, awesome dude!

After a 30 min drive we arrived at the next location (to be kept a secrect) and were greated by stitt and a few others on there way to it. These seem like a nice bunch of guys i thought to myself which later turned out to be top notch guys. After a short walk to the trails and through some trees i was greated by 10 other riders, some of which were already going big and busting out some moves. I have to say.....These trails are awesome, BIG BIG respect to shaggy for making the place possable. The jumps were in pervect condition and by looking at them, very well maintained. In no time at all there was guys taking different lines for different jumps and busting out some sweet as moves. Jeees...were do i start, what riders will i concentrate on????only time could tell so i hung back for a bit and let the guys warm up ( not that they needed it) and watched.

It was becoming quite obvious were the talent was. Stitt, rossi and stephen(the daddy) stood out the most so it was shoot time. Camera out and after 160pics it was becoming obvious that these guys were on par with the pro dirt jumpers around the world. Ive certainly found some of the best irish talent here. Tabletops, barspins, nothings, can can's,one footers,no footers....the list goes on, i was in my glory. After 2 hours of jumping the guys got together and told me it was time for the next location...., oooh yes.

When we arrived there were more riders, well over 15 bustin the trails. These dirt jumps are like what you would see in the likes of mbuk etc, big and steep. There was different lines everywere. I really love this place, so pervect or a shoot. Again the guys were of busting moves before the camera was out. Gor impressed me hear as it was his 1st time hitting these trails, having a bit of bother nailing the last set he wouldnt give up and im glad he didnt, he had them well nailed before the day was out...sweet as fella. Another few riders stood out and they were colin ross, ewan and ryan. I was in my glory. Again they were hitting the jumps one after the other, each having there own style and tricks, and not stoping. I also noticed alot of spectators there as well which was good to see. I got into position with camera in hand and just snapped away as the guys pushed there limits. Stitt and Rossi were really going for it, Superman seat grab was the topic. Although none of them got it nailed they were very very close but as it was coming to the end of the day i could see that they were getting tired which can only be expected from jumping all day. Im sure they'll have it nailed soon enough, after all they have the talent and certainly the balls.....'ave it!!! Stephen (the daddy) was mind blowing with wips ive never seen the like of, not just wiping it out but literally side ways, awesome control in the air made for a pervect landing everytime.
The guys were now heading of to comber for a lake jump(sorry i didnt get down guys, next time for deff) so the place was left for the buckeejit crew to have the place to themselves. We stayed there for another hour or so and im glad we did, Gor,davy and scotty were hitting everything from the 5 pack to the hip, with wips, tabletops,no footers, barspins and anything else they could squeeze out. They were getting tired so it was hometime. A good days shoot from 10am to 6.30pm.
