Shimano have issued a voluntary recall of certian QR's due to a "potential safety issue.
Affected MTB skewers are sold with hubs marked: HB-M765 (XT), HB-M756 (XT), HB-M960 (XTR), HB-M760 (XT) and HB-M965 (XTR) and would have been supplied after 1 Novemeber 2005. They might also have been supplied with complete wheels marked WH-M965 (XTR).
If you have an effected QR, or think you might have an effected QR return it to the supplying shop or your local bike shop for a free replacement.
If you got your QR before 1 November 2005 or the shop who supplied the QR had it in stock before this date, yours is not effected.
Due to the potential catastrophic crash that might be sustained if a QR fails, especially a front one, it is reccomended that if in doubt, consult the supplying shop.
