anyone ever been biking around inverness - i'll be going there for work for a couple of days every week in august/sept and the bike will just happen to be in the back of the car!
With a bit of googling i've found - Learnie Red Rock Trails -
anyone know what this place is like or what else is on offer?

The other option is to race up to inverness on day one - do what i need to do work wise and get back to 7 stanes territory late that night and then spend all next day on the bike before getting last boat home - might this be better??

Parts of Learnie were felled, and I don't know if the affected trails have been fully rebuilt or not (I did ask somebody who rode them recently, but I never got an accurate answer).

Golspie is about an hours drive north of Inverness, and I'd highly recommend you make the effort to get up there if you can. Lot's of people rate it as the best trail centre in the uk.

There's lots of natural riding around Aviemore if you can spare a few hours on the way past. Pop into Bothy Bikes for maps/directions (they're located on the ski road behind Rothiemurcus Tennis Courts)

Laggan is a bit further down the road from Aviemore, and is worth trying.

You might also want to check out the Moray Moutain Bike Club (http://www.moraymountainbikeclub.co.uk/index.php) as they've got some info on their site (Moray is the county east of Inverness incase you're wondering!)
