Yo guys, gonna give the big drop a bit of an mot so was thinking of building the main part at home and taking it up so, this is gonna sound silly but I need someone to measure the length and width of the take off part. The lander isnt in great shape either but we can work on it up there.

I think Ill just have enough timber and nails to do the job but donations are welcome

Its 1.5m x 3m almost exactly. I even took a tape with me! Dont be afraid to raise it all/some of it by a few feet/inches.

Good man yourself.

Got all the materials ready, Ill make the frame and well just use the treads that are already there. Will need a hand getting the frame up there though.

Had already thought about splitting it and making a double take off. One side higher than the other and separate landers. Have tweaked the design and deemed it possible to add the lunar launch ramp as a retrofit. lol

That's what I was thinkin too man, like a wee raised bit to the inside, say a foot higher and two foot wide.

I can be about any day but saturday!

What a nights building lads, wee pat on the back.

The stream trail is crying out for a wee bit of work, dig out the rough bits and mot the rotten jumps. It wouldnt take much if there were a few extra men.

What about organising a night next week, rebuild the lander for the big drop and maybe steady up some of the boardwalk?

Dave you will be glad to hear that the big drop is now about six inches higher than before, you still have to be as mad as a microwave full of frogs to do it but Ozzy christened her in style.

Stream trail middle drop alot safer now, super sturdy, good job Steve, landing over big tree needs dropping a bit, but all safe for everyone now. Good flow down the trail 90% way down but lower part needs spicing up a bit somehow, ithat 90degree left hander just ruins the flow, in my humble opinion. Maybe I am just lazy and dont like to pedal too much!!!

Yeah hit the now bigger drop and left half the skin of my right leg in the chicken wire on the lander ramp! Feck just can't master my landing! Frustrating! But hey practice makes perfect eh?

SteveSpesh
June 12-2010, 10:04 AM
Raging man, chicken wire = cheese grater.

I should be about at the gates half four or five if anyones about.

Im thinking a big long session on the stream.

Legionare2009
June 12-2010, 01:53 PM

after todays slip sliding fun, i think we might need some chicken wire on the left hand drop-off, lost the rear wheel a couple of times as I hit it too fast, went slow and then nearly didn't make the landing!

SteveSpesh
June 13-2010, 06:01 PM
Well have to look into that. Anyone got chicken wire?

Thats a sweet wee drop though, the lander gave me the confidence to do it, now Im clearing the whole thing and landing on the ground. Really need to sort the run in, some gravel would be a proper job.

ColB

i don't mind the run-in, the sketchiness of it makes it a bit more fun, it's just once I hit the greasy wood, the back decided to head right :)
