Hangin with the Big Boys..

Been a tad busy with work and all and havent been out for almost 2 weeks so packed the kids off to McDs with Mrs P and took a race out this evening. After 10 minutes I realised just why I like being on my bike:) It was a lovely evening weather wise and the trails were riding really well. Mostly bone dry in LW, HT and Forbidden and it didnt take long before Id put the world to rights and was riding along without a care in the world but kicking myself for not trying harder to get out sooner.

Its annoying though just how being off the bike for a week or two affects fitness but I huffed and puffed my way up to HT which turned out to be more like Shaftsbury Square at 5 pm! Lots of riders of every type all out enjoying the riding and some very impressive bikes to be seen. Quite a few guys with new DH machines which looked ultra impressive and give me a bit of a complex about my measly 4 inches! Nice to meet a few more faces from on here and I think they appreciated the tips I was able to give them for their forthcoming trip to France :-)

All in all a rather splendid evening out with friendly riders, great trails and perfect conditions!

I happened to see a penguin with his leg over a green penelope last night on my way through! Bike still in bits, gutted!!! Hopefully next weekend!!!

I do know what you mean though about fitness and feeling dog-rough having not been out for a couple of weeks, as you know I was feeling pretty tip-top over in scotland, riding well, feeling good, despite my mechanical faux pas! Its been two weeks since I was last out due to the might green mean machine being in bits(pending new bling!!), I can't wwait to get back out, and the evening are staying lighter a good while now, so the odd midweek jaunt out is definately on the cards!!!

Getting out in the evenings is a real novelty but the brighter evenings are a Godsend. Im tied up this Saturday morning at a Chruch/community meeting Ive been pressganged into so I hope to get out on Sunday evening instead.

Ill bet I wasnt the only one to get my legover something last night.....;-)

Just keep rubbing it in guys. Haven't been out on bike in around 2 weeks and it looks like going to be another 4 weeks before I can. CAN'T WAIT. Black Beauty is all repaired, cleaned and polished waiting for her next outing. Enjoy guys, see you soon on the trails.
