We really need cycle lanes that go places in this country. I am just home from a week in Majorca and they had cycle lanes between every town/village. It was excellent as you rented a bike and went wherever you wanted. Going to the boozer and getting home has never been easier!

...as opposedto the one out of Bangor to Belfast. Leaves you on a footpath/hard shoulder on the wrong side of a dual carriageway!

Rode on some well thought out one in italy a while back.
Proper ones, that you can go as fast on as you could on the road.
Unlike most of the ones here that seem to make you cycle on a footpath with a sign saying you have to share it with pedestrians... walkin' their weans... and you better be able to bunny hop good and high...

Is it any wonder nobody cycles on them?

Theres one of those plastic feckers every 20 metres on parts of the bangor carrageway - did someone in the council order too many one day?
Majorkie has good big footpaths and cycle lanes on main trunks - according to the big signs paid for by the EU - why can't we get some of that dosh?
