Right. The charger for my Cateye Light has suddenly stopped working. Says on their website that this should be covered under two years warranty but I'm buggered if I can find the receipt/proof of purchase/warranty anywhere. A new charger is looking like a sizeable £35+ (even on eBay).
Anyone any ideas/advice/similar experiences on this?

It's an EL610 single shot. Tried the electronics store in Belfast today and they said something about it being a "pulse" charger.
If one if your chargers is superflous and it does my job I'd throw you some quids for it.
Cheers.

Oh fast eddies - lucky you got out with ur wallet intact :D
El610 uses a Nickel-metal hydride battery, the preferred charge method of NiMH cells uses low duty cycle pulses of high current rather than continuous low current.
My old one for sale soon uses constant voltage so no use to you, I'd try Maplin for a pulse NiMH charger and try and match up the connector if poss'. It's prob' a AA shaped cluster so at the worst you can get an AA NiMH charger in Maplins.
Not familiar with model but you should be able to jury rig something up - hope this helps!

If the batteries are AA size and easily removable then this may work - $14 dollars so maybe a tenner if you shop around.

My local B&Q are having a clear out and have the Uniross 15min super fast charger for £10 with 4x2500mAh AA batteries. I have one at home and they are a super job. they come with a car charger lead too.

No sorry lads. The battery is internal in the light (i.e. I plug the light straight into the power unit/charger). Or am I being stupid? But thanks anyway.

Looks like you will have to get hold of a Catseye charger then if it's battery's are internal and inexcessable.
