AVG has flagged 'Trojan horse Agent.ASSR' about five times since yesterday, Ive sent them all to the virus vault as they are detected and then deleted/'healed' them from the virus vault. But it keeps getting flagged on reboot or randomly within a session (without browser opened).
Is the system clean of the Trojan Horse when its 'healed' and if yes why does AVG keep flagging it?
'Trojan horse Agent.ASSR' was filed under C:\System Volume Information\_restore{very long sequence of numbers and letters separated with hyphens}\RP1\A0000006.dll
The A0000006 part changes with each virus (A0000005, A0000006, A0000007 etc.)
Is this just an AVG thing?

Its an AVG thing.
The trojan has workedi nto the root file directory, meaning that AVG will only move what is safe to do so to the vault. It hides in the reg, so each time you reboot, it will pop back up.
Turn off system restore and run a scan again.
I work in the IT field, and I don't really rate AVG anti virus. Personally I would use Avast!
Remove AVG if you wish, the google "Avast Home Edition".
Download it from their site, then Install.
Once Installed, go back to the avast site, and register. they will then send you an activation code for their anti virus. It's free, It has a live resident scanner, that scans everything you download/visit without you even knowing.
I've never found a virus/spybot/trojan etc that can get past it. And it is 100% free.
good luck.

2nd Avast. I'm forced to run a Windows machine. Avast is very good. it does throw up some sort of RPG or summit fault once in a while, but a reboot sorts it. No noticeable hit on performance either. I mean, it's windows, so works crap, but Avast don't seem to make it crapper ;-)
Oh ya, and can I be the first to suggest getting a Mac? (Cue Bowdie ;-) )

How resource hungry is avast in comparison? I know on startup that AVG is a process hog, at least on my comp. Used to take ~11secs from login to idle, now its nearing 40secs-1minute :(
EDIT: nevermind, thanks steve. Downloading avast now :)
