Is anyone entered to do the full or half Marathon or 10k?
I am doing the full thing and really looking forward to it. Looks like its going to be a great event.

The full thing for me. I'm really not looking forward to it as I haven't been doing much running lately.

Sure you'll be grand you are an active person anyway. The rocks before whitepark bay beach will be tricky if wet. The beach will take it out of the legs.

Route won't be going over the rocks, from Portbradden you head up onto the Coast Rd. then back down past White Park Bay Youth Hostel, reverse of this on the way back.

Is it mainly hardpack trails or is it potentially a mud bath/bog hole? Tempted to do the Half and see how it goes!

It's mainly good trails, some a bit grassy than others but ok under foot think there is only one bit out near dunsiverick that is a bit muddy at times in the corner of a feild but not 100% sure the route takes this in so would not let it put you off....!!

Good stuff. Just wanted to be sure I didn't need to practice much bog hopping ;)

Route goes the way you're thinking about but the muddy bit in the corner of the field is now by-passed by a lovely new path which the National Trust put in at the start of the summer. Expect to get your feet a little bit mucky, it is off road after all but you won't have to plod your way knee deep in anything if that's what you mean.

I had wondered about that section. So climb up the road from Portbradden then back to the beach via the youth hostel. Is it then a beach run to Ballintoy Harbour? I take it the Farmer has finally opened from the beach to the harbour.

Yes Mickey that's the way it's going. Portbradden - Up to Whitepark Road - down past the car park back to the beach. Beach run to Ballintoy Harbour. Food station will be in Ballintoy and then turn for home - easy!! Going up on thursday to give it another crack.
Moyle Council has a permissive path agreement in place along the section you are chatting about so everything is open. Hopefully!!

Aye very easy!!! Another climb to worry about lol Have you properly run this route yet or have you done it in sections? Time?
Not that I will be pushing for any great time just aiming to finish. I love the route just a pity about that road section. I suppose its less beach to run.
