stinking helmet

after last weeks biking left my helmet in a friends car for a few days, maybe because of the heat or whatever it is now stinking , has anyone any tips how to de-goup it

Some lining won't come out or go back in, what I do is hold it under the shower to get it wet, rub some shampoo into it to get a bit of a lather going then wrinse well and leave somewhere warm to dryout [as quickly as poss or it'll go moldy]. works a treat on 'bunch of bananas' and full face :)
