Right the Xbox has **** the bed what a surprise, says the extended warranty has expired, what a con on a known problem and what I can tell from the support website it is the power supply and before Microsoft charge me £200 for scratching their own balls has anyone had to pay for it and how much was has anyone just replaced the power supply before. Advice please.

And please no "oh you should have bought a PS3" I know and I am in a right ****ing mood with MS, the whole point of something is you can actually use the ****ing thing

Theres no need really for computer games :o

Just forget about it and buy yourself something nice for the bike with the money you'd have to pay to repair it ;)

Whats the problem with it?

Is it the red ring of death (RROD), or did the power supply simply fail?

Should have bought an Apple, then you could pay to get new service packs and be smug about it

Sorry. Nothing helpful to say. I'm with LWatson on this one

Warranty has feck all to do with it. Go for sale of goods act, not fit for purpose.

It's against the retailer, not MS.

See here for some info (http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=5767496).

And google for xbox sale of goods act has lots of results.

I my wee bro has a spare powerpack at home for one. His shat itself so he bought a Elite.

Not sure what he would be looking for it tho.

If the "extended warranty" has expired then whats your problem, things cannot have a lifelong warranty

My warranty was up and when I rang asking how much a new PSU was they just asked me to send in the old one and sent me out a new one free of charge. I'm guessing you just came online to vent your anger before actually ringing them? Nothing lasts forever and depending on how much you've used it you might have got your moneys worth if not then I doubt you'll find another piece of consumer electrics at that price with more than a three year warranty.
