Just joined up on the site. I'm pretty new to the MTB scene, my roots are in moto-x.
Just thought I'd say hello. Got a bike and shall start hitting the trails soon :)
Oh and I couldnt find an "introductions" or "new member" thread, so I just posted here.
cheers all.

Have considered it! But towbars and Impreza turbos don't really go :o
Ill have to get used to cleaning the interior after each bike session, as I currently dismantle it and fit it into the car.
Just wish someone would design one to clear rear spoilers!

Do what I do. Take the wifes car! Just got rid of my Scoob and hated taking the bike out in it on a bad day. Came home with the boot and back seats covered in muck!

Welcome to the forum mate.
I might be able to help you with a tow bar if your interested.
I have a Westvallia detachable one lying around my house that I took off my 99 Scooby just before I sold it. Its yours for £80 if you want it, has electrics still attached.

cheers for the welcomes lads :)
I managed to find a suitable carrier, and would you believe it is the most basic/cheapest carrier halfords had in stock.
Every one in the shop said it wouldn't fit a subaru, and especially wouldn't fit my mates Evo 9.
Proof is in the pictures tho :)

Its good and sturdy, even with 2 bikes. :D
Oh and not a towbar in sight :)

Be careful you dont put any of the wheels in line with the exhaust.

Welcome to the forum mate, my cousin rides the wheels off his banshee, good bike. I use that same carrier on my car. Good job and not that expensive.

If you ever want a roof rack i have a genuine subaru one i'll part with, Its for a mk 1 scooby.
The towbar hides the nice view of the all important diff.

Welcome to the madhouse sorlith!
Dont know if I would trust the seatpost to hold the bike on, maybe get one of the arms under the pivot plate ;) you seem to like your pink.

Seat post is fine, thats the way the bikes hang on some of the chairlifts in france.
The rotational force of the bike on the seat post would stop it slipping out. Kinda like tryin to get your seatpost out by pulling it sideways.

What are you doing to that poor evo?

Yeah i had thought about the seat post, but it is very secure, its not a quick release post, and I've got it well torqued up with the trusty norbar!
And its not pink :p. It's actually red! just taken with my crappy phone camera! and for proof, check out the evo lights at the rear, they look pink too :D

Just be careful with any rack that touches paintwork, as any movement in the rack with a bit of dirt and salt off a winter road can wreck your nice paint finish!

Yeah, it's always well inspected for dirt etc. It's not my Evo tho, it's my friends car! I drive a Subaru, and Ill get some pics with the rack fitted to that too :D
We certainly get some odd looks in a evo, with a bike rack :o
