Seeing as there have been a few gadget threads with lots of feedback I might as well try my luck

Phone contracts due for renewal in 4 weeks and I've been offered a couple of deals on different phones, Nokia's 5800 with the touch screen novelty or Sony Ericsson's C905 Plus

Anyone using either of these and what do you think of them?

I was offered similar a while back but just went for a basic phone and they stuck on £150 credit on my account instead. The sensible option!

Problem is I'm a sucker for something shiny.

Already on a "£10 off per month" deal with 3 cos I'm such a loyal (or easily swayed) customer. But £150 would go towards 6 months free on my contract...

I have the sony ericsson. Got it the other week. I like it alot. Made out of alloy, has that iphone tilt thing on it (when you turn your phone sideways it corrects itself.) Big enough screen, good mp3, fantastic camera. sony are a camera with a phone built in, not the other way around.

Its also the chosen phone of 007. If its good enough for james bond???

I think marky has the 5800, I will try and get him to comment on it, I went with the Nokia E71, awesome, it depends what you want out of the phone,

I can't comment on the Sony, but the Nokia one comes with things like A-GPS, and with the Nokia Sports Tracker (https://sportstracker.nokia.com/nts/main/index.do) software, can be a very useful training tool, if the camera is a big lure, then the sony, I have heard nothing but good things from the most recent cybershot handsets, and the MP3 playback software is always top-notch on them!

a mate in work was after the c905 and had spoke to his provider about an upgrade, phoned them back the nxt day to confirm only to be told they had dropped that phone due to too many being returned with faults.

Orange dont seem to be able to write software for Sony-Ericcsons, they should just leave the default load on them.

The c905 seems to be a return to form for SE, seems pretty decent to me.

Checked over a few reviews & seems the C905 has something similar to Sport Tracker, which is one of the draws of a GPS phone for me. Looked at the E71 as well Ben but didn't get on with the qwerty keypad, fingers just too fat for it.

3 are sending the SE out for a wee look, it's the only 1 I haven't had a play with yet
