Anyone ridden the tollymore trails or donard trails in the last few days?

I'm thinking of going down over the weekend and wondering how they coped with the heavy rain during the week?

Thank You

Tolly was very wet on sunday, very wet. It seems to have suffered with this wet spring.

On my way home i went through donard and it had held up much better, nowhere near as wet.

I'm heading early tomorrow morning, weathers pretty sweet at the minute though, if it dosn;t rain tonight it could be fairly nice!
Once you get back could ye tell me how the track's riding too? What sort of state's that bottom berm in?

Moneyscalp is in great shape actually, considering! Plenty of grip all round, and starting to get rough :D

There are a few wee puddles after the bottom berm, and a few biggish ones up top, but mostly pretty good. Most of them got splashed away from the runs tonight. The bottom berm isn't in great shape... Most of the berms could do with a bit of work actually...

Aye, top section's always a bit wet.

Is there still the hole in the middle of the bottom berm!? Was an absolute bummer!

Might try and fix up a few things.. wont have any tools with me though so it'll hardly be any masterpiece. If anyone does have a spade or something up there would they mind PM'ing me as I'd happily fix up all the berms etc., just don't have the tools to do it!

*flipping nice bike you have there Mck!

Thanks!

There's no hole in the bottom berm - i'd have fixed some stuff up, but i'd no spade either. It would need a good bit of work to be honest though...

Lol, i resorted to stealing some plastic bags of Lwatson, filling them up with stones with my hands and then carrying the stones over to the berm to fill the huge hole left after the race up! Not the best way to spend a morning!
And I've dug a fair few drainage ditches with hands and sticks too! :D, if someone could hide a spade up there it'd certainly be the jab! I'm tempted.. but I'm in a desperate need of a mech, harder spring for my forks and bottom bracket at the minute so am completely skint! :(

Moneyscalp was riding SWEET! :D
Quickest I've ever gone down it. Although I managed to get my brake lever mangled in a tree, ripping it out.. :(:(

Fixed up the bottom berm a bit. There was a bit of a hole in it, but on the big bikes im sure you wouldn't feel it. It was completely wrecking the flow on the hardtails though so I thought I may aswell fix it up. ALOT nicer now :):)

I have many spades but alas you may not have them :P Id get killed :-)

I now have a spade, axe and saw all <2.5ft long so they're a perfect mobile trail building kit for altataggart and surrounding area for me, id only bring a big spade/saw if Im not with the bike and getting a lift in/out, there are other users of the forest that use the trails unfortunately, mostly walkers but you meet some horses so hiding doesnt always work.
You should come around to help some time, got a feature that you will like thats actually on the wall run (the faster/newest/unfinished one). Maybe get a full day sometime, leave bikes on slickrock and finish the wall run, leave tools at bottom, walk run back up and ride back down from top :-) Me and Daniel have NS ready to go into it but dont have enough hands to carry :(
