Never been to the 'Tress and was wondering which bike to bring. The purpose of the trip is to dick about and have fun (with a bit of cycling too).
Any advice welcome.
Jump bike - single speed, 80mm fork, single brake, have to stand to pedal.
OR
XC bike - gears, 140mm fork, can sit and pedal ::yikes::.

xc bike
EDIT: Oops glentress, never been, thought you said kirri. I'd still imagine you'd want to bring the xc bike. If its the one i'm thinking about then you can jump it alright anyway, so I'd guess it would do you grand on the freeride park too?

xc - without doubt. Though you'd have fun at the freeride park on your jump bike.

Yea, XC bike for everything there is.
Dont forget to do Inneleithen too. You will definitely want the XC bike for that also.

12-13 June Rob. I'm going as a guest on a trip organised by others, or I would have put a post up looking for company.
Still, it's a big boat, i'm sure those moosive tyres of yours would fit. You may even get on for free if you offer to use them as buoyancy aids :D
no probs, cant go that weekend wife is away on her sisters 40th bithday bash in brighton... was just going to cycle across, whats all this boat thing:alcohol:

I went a few years ago and hired a kona hardtail which was perfect. Theres plenty of climbing on the black route.
