I've just got home from a a few hours in Carin Wood and Helens Tower!

When we got back to the car park at Carin wood, the ranger collared us to chat about some MTB'r clipping a women on the fireroad, blah blah its was all very dull!

However, he told us that all of the jumps over at Helens Tower were going to be demolished in the next week or so!

Don't see how this information is going to help anyone in any way, but I thought I'd let y'all know!

Later

I thought HT was part of the Clandeboye estate and therefore private land? Don't suppose you mentioned all the dog crap I run over in cairn wood left by walkers?

forest service work with clandeboye to manage the land, but they have kept a low profile recently, and also scotish logging companies have been doing felling there not forest service, so the word of a forest service warden isnt 100% fact to me

I feel for you james and i hope this isnt true, there is some nice stuff in both places up there, lets just pray they dont know where the "BIG" line is, as its well hidden and cant be found unless you know what your looking for

Or you follow the trail of litter the kids leave. I think he's just trying to act important.

Who is the vigilante bird feeder man (camo jacket etc) at Cairn Wood?

He stopped a few of us about a month ago, gave us the usual 'you bikers ruin everything' spiel. I questioned him on his opinion on cleaning up after his mut and other dog walkers that leave their dogs mess all over the trails.

Of course he then spots me the next day in Bangor and stops me for a chat, freaky as I was all kitted up the day before and wouldnt have thought easily recognizeable in my 'plain' clothes!

think i've seen him, have you seen the bird hide that someone built? Quite an impresive Ray mears style construction!

all this talk about mtber's in cairn wood and up at HT, but they are happy for snotty nosed kids to rip up the ground on the estate on scramblers at unofficial events, like a few weeks ago as spotted by myself, marky and penguinni!!

OK, everyone relax! I'd say it was the bird feeder I was talked at by, clearly not a ranger! Your jumps will be safe!

Yep they took the landing away from it leaving a giant pit of mud using the dirt to build the one at the very bottom of the track. They also messed up the stepdown at the top but i think james and farry have it all fixed now :) will be up on saturday to check it out :)
