Where do you pay and do you need a race lisance? is the track just beside the caravan park?

www.irishdh.com and follow the race preview link for Rostrevor, it virtually tells you everything you need to know. when you rock up to rostrevor follow the bottom path from the caravan park along the edge of the fields and you will find the track. the track finishes in one of those fields and sign-on for the race will be there. you can't miss it as there will be redbull arches and a tent set up for sign-on.

Theres a road gap isnt there?
I would definately reccommend you practise on the champs course(s) before racing, they arent something you want to just throw yourself at the first time youve seen/ridden them. Still THE best fun/most demanding dh trails ive ever ridden in NI. period.

well you get people in u16 that wont win under 14 but the competition is much higher in under16. I dont think so but if you do just put your age dwn any way and say its your 1st race they will let u go in u14 and your bday is so late in the year

If you've ever seen me riding, then you'll know - Awful.
There are a few fast riders, Ruben Keddle, Cameron Conforth and Adam Tarbett, but the rest wouldn't be too good. I'll be on an orange coloured Orange 222, my second time riding it if you want to see the standard of the bottom half of U-14

you can camp in the finishing field, people will have their tents, you could probably bring the carvan there and its only a 5-10 minute walk from the showers and toilets (, if there are not already portaloos on site).

They have built a new line around the back of the rock drop, which is about the only real major change. There is a few pointless jumps that have been built up again, but thats about all.
trailfox
May 21-2009, 05:09 PM
just a general clean up then. Might be heading upthere in the caravan on the 12th June but Ill be up before then to see what remains.. is the rock drop im thinking about the one who's alternate line is a rough section into a tight squeeze into the next berm?
Seen the wolfe boys hit that a few weeks ago when pushing up, props to you guys for hitting it, looks tight :-)
in fact I saw ben and glynn aswell on the same day in rostrevor, apparently they'd just finished shooting this (http://breakthecyclefilm.com/final-group-shoot/)and were taking a few runs of rostrevor to finish the day :-)
Kona Rab
May 21-2009, 06:46 PM
Thats the one. But the new line is further over to the left hand side if your looking at the rock face. It gives you a far better sling shot out of that section. But it was badly cut up last weekend. Wonder what it is like now after all this rain.

Whats the rock garden like ? Hard to get thtough? And the rock drop is it big. I am trying to make a picture of the track lol..
monty
May 21-2009, 08:21 PM
Yes :D, rock drop is pretty big.. and like, im sure you could hit a drop that size and you proabbly have before.. but it's in a pretty awkward place, run in isn't the nicest so unless your rolling on a 7"+ plush full sus it's damn hard to keep the speed to drop it well!
Hate stuff like that! You can hit any size of a jump in a set but stick one on a DH trail and you see it and don't have a baldy what to do!
But yeh, you don't have to hit it, haven't seen this new line rab's talking about but the old one wasn't the most pleasent like! :), but i'd say you'd be fine with the rear travel.

As many as you can fit in.

Get a couple of runs in to see how it lies.
Do your first timed run and then try and beat that on your second timed run. Just remember you are only racing yourself.

U14 means 'under 14'. Technically if you are 14 you should be in the U16 category but you can usually get away with it when your as close as DHD to the border between the two.
