:Dmy kona jack**** left peadle is broke. it spins wildly and clunks and bangs and shakes about and most of all the noise is shocking. I contacted the bike shop where i bought the bike from and they said they can't replace it under warranty, but they can sent it back to the manufacture under warranty and get them to fix/replace it. is it worth posting the peadle back to them or should i get it fixed here. thanks alot lads.

If you send them away it could be months before you get them back. buy a new/second hand set and get riding again

sounds like the bearings are done.. easy enough to strip and grease up just make sure you dont loose any bearings, do it over a container, and make sure you remember what went where. If that fails at least you know you havent wasted any money buying new ones.

On a budget dmr v8s would be good, very reliable, or the wellgo equivalent as its actually wellgo who make the v8s!!

Matter of opinion really, you can always buy the v8's and send the broken pedal away and if you don't like the v8's just put the other pedals on when you get them back.

I concur - these are a decent pedal and for the money unbeatable

Just open your Kona pedals up anyway, what's the worst that can happen? They are frigged as it is. Its a very simple thing, the pedal. You'll figure it out, probably.

Did you clean them before spraying? Take out the pins?

Did you even spray they?
Not my idea of sexy.

v6?

just get a good set of pedals (V8s or V12s are a few amoung many) and just service them a few times after that when they get a bit rough. Or buy cheaper ones (some of which are very good! I have welgos, not the V8s in particular, mine are more wedge shaped but i prefer them over V8s! Leg mincers when you dont do your job right though..) and replace them when they break. simple!
