Been trying to come up with some for quite a while although when you're not legally allowed to work yet it's right and hard!
Paper round and that sort of stuff's out of the question as first of, my closest town is 5mile away so it'd be dark before I got home! And secondly, most of the time I need the money because the bikes broken, and without a bike there's no paper round:rolleyes:
What did you guys do when you were young?(or did you just scobe of your parents ;)?)
And Can you's think of any way to get a bit of dosh!?
(without selling drugs in school:p)

Wash cars/wash house windows/cut grass/weed etc etc etc. The list can go on if your really determined to make a few pound.
My mates wee boy (14 or 15) has just started to do car valet and he's very good at it. He's now got his own business cards and through word of mouth he is doing ok.

It's obviossly different between 12 (me) and 15/16 (you), but I just do jobs for my parents and relatives, most places will give you a Summer job (I haven't done this yet), and selling sweets in school. I know a lad who made over a tenner a day selling sweets. Just be careful when you do it though, (I mean) people always nick them

There's a guy in my school who does a good business selling ASDA chocolate bars. Makes something like £20 a week I think.

Ah the olde money crisis :-) at least your just spending money on bits, i need a new bike

Yes, if you cant do the car/window/weeding things smurf mentioned then the black market sweet trade in school should work nicely. Since the ban on the stuff a few people have tried and did quite well. But stuff gets stolen if you dont think it through. Get someone to do it with you so you can handle the crowds, use those click-seal tubs so its harder for the sly ones to nick the sweets amoungst the crowd and keep it low key - in and around the mobiles would be a good start. Most teachers are dead on and turn a blind eye to it but then again...
oh and target junior school (ok, the younger years than you), they seem to be very easy to sell to.
Oh and buy it cheap and in bulk, makro, tescos or stanleys in the town are decent enough. dont use centra, no profit there.

lol look at me, giving advice on selling sweets :-) im off to bed!

I always found waiting till cookies were going half price then, buying about 10 packs for 50p each:):) Sell them off in school for £2 always worked......£15 profit:):):)

But always remember to take off the price, could ruin your name!!!!

You can work, you just need to find somewhere with a relaxed attitude towards child labour laws....your local agri mart, cafes etc. Keep an eye on your local papers for up coming community events you could contribute a bit of labour to in exchange for some cash. Other things you could do - walk dogs maybe? Split logs, collect kindling, dry it out and sell it....

mowing lawns always paid well, target the big rich houses where the owners are too lazy to do it theirself, I used to pick up £20 an hr for using their own ride on lawn mower

Monty, great wee idea I did was selling perosnalised timetables at school, really small about credit card sized as opposed to a big sheet of A4 paper. Laminated with a pic of a lovely lady or a car on the back or something. Even sold them to most of me teachers!
But it's not sustainable, so yeah, job is probably the only option. Living in a rural area is usually better for working younger as they do have a more relaxed approach to the law, so just go round and ask everyone, it'll do no harm asking and they might point you in the right direction.
The drawback is:work=time taken up that could be used for bike riding / studying!!
