Guys, this is the youthh forum, read the rules. Yes your replies are funny, Chuckys are on of the funniest I've ever read on here, but none the less, do not flame.

To be honest a DHX5 would probably be over kill for a wee bike like that.

would a dhx5 be ok for my 2007 kona stinky because mabe be geting one for my birthday.thanks

I have a DHX5 on my Stab and it is a fantastic shock I cannot fault it. But to be honest if your having bother setting up a Van R, then a DHX5 is not the one for you as you really need to know how to set them up properly for your riding style and weight.

but would it work ok on a 2007 kona stinky because i seen that you said to sxtrailrider that his bike would die if he put it on,,thanks
Kona Rab
January 26-2009, 09:57 PM
It will work on both bikes.
But IMO its gonna be overkill, your probably not going to use it to its full potential so why waste the money. Your Van R will be fine once you get it set up.

Most good fork company's have good shox, but as Kona Rab said, a Vanilla will do you for a Stinky.

What Rab was trying to say is that you will not get the full potential out of a dhx5, it's a top of the range shock and would be a waste of money to buy for your local trails, save your money for when things go wrong. When you are using a DH bike to it's full potential and understand the way the shock and bike works; then you should have a look at the top of the range shocks!

It doesn't matter what you ride, it's what you do on it. Stop arguing with eachother over who's better than who or who's bike is better etc etc just ride the bloody things and have fun, be grateful for what you have. IMO it's too much bike too soon.

What's wrong with the shock already on it?
All the dearest and best bits in the world won't make you a trail demon.
Do you need a new shock or forks?
downhilldude
February 17-2009, 08:43 AM

Manitou 4 or 6 way coil, or any DHX. But as has been said already a vanilla R or RC would do you grand;)
