Go for a swampthing F&R, tried all sorts of combos but ST F&R seems to be the best option to use everywhere.

Aye, swampys are better alround but he ask what had the most grip. You can always get your shears out too.

Cue the herd of people ranting on about this topic appearing again!
Swampthings are a great all round tire for our weather and trails. Load more drag than xc tires...obviously! But what you loose in drag you gain in flat out tramping without sliding all over the place.
I use dual ply front and rear. Love 'em.
Heard a good few people moaning about minion's and high rollers not shedding muck and dirt quick enough. They're probably best suited to a dryer trail.

Minons are dry weather tires.
And you don't get too many dry days in this corner of the globe.
I am no so keen on them. i pulled them off my bike and replaced them with high rollers. They are a brill tyre but they don't like wet muddy conditions.
Swampys are a good winter tyre.
Lindsay you and I also know of a certain someone who loves those too. I just can't bring myself to cutting them down seems like a real waste. But I've heard that cut spikes are a good job.

ever think on trying a set of bonty mud X tyres this is what i'd ride
mostly, they give good grip on the majority of conditions eg mud,
shale and wet roots. they come in either 1.9 or 2.1 but 2.1
actually measures up @1.9 try running them @30psi in the wet and drop
pressure down 2-5psi for the dry!

I've used just about everything over the years and minnion st's are simply incredible, wet or dry. Their grippiness still amazes me. I'll never use a different tyre unless I have to.
Go for the minnions bud you won't regret it.

you'll want the 2-ply sidewall version too. Punctures and snakebites will be a thing of the past.
