my spring at the bottom where the rebound is the spring feels loose when you move it..and when you do a jump or bunny hop it rattles and clunks.should this do this...and when you try and harden or soften the shock via tightning the spring it is extremly hard to twist..but the treads look fine...the only way i can seem to addjust the spring is by a tool...its a van r.. thanks very much...

Does the spring feel loose when you don't move it? If not then it's OK and you should go out and ride it. If it looks loose then you should really take it to the nearest priest and ask him to perform an exorcism as I believe you have a haunted Kona. If the priest can't help then try the local butcher - have him bone and roll the bike. If this doesn't work then the last resort would be a local bike shop???

yea mine does that aswell, if you life the rear wheel and drop it you hear a clunk from the sock unit, i think it might be down to play in the bushing/main pivot though.

I dont think this is a spring issue. Im taking a random guess at this bike being a Kona Stinky?? ;) My first stinky did exactly the same thing, and I tried exactly the same course of action (tightening the spring- I was unfamilliar with coil shocks at the time). It made no difference so I set the shock with correct sag and my preferred rebound and rode it for ages without any problems. The noise did not disappear until I had the shock serviced.
I'd advise you simply get the shock set up at a shop to give you peace of mind that it is all present and correct. Then simply take the bike out and enjoy it noise or no noise.

i doubt your bottoming out your shock.
we have been through all this before with you, we've given you as much advice and help as we could without seeing the bike, now its up to you to do something about it, with your lack of knowledge id advise you to take it to your lbs and get them to help you.
theres no harm trying halfords, 95% of the time ive found them useless with anything, but its better than nothing.

Your are not botttoming out the shock, we wstablished that in the other thread, you even said so yourself in the end.
I'm closing this thread, and I will close further threads that you start about this, to save others the time of making sensible replies to you, and trying to help you when it's clear you point blank refuse to take any of the advice offered.
Take the bike, and yourself to a shop and get the damn thing setup correctly.
