Hi guys,

new to the forum and was hoping you might be able to offer some advice?

Basically which bike NS or Flow.

I'm thinking NS as it is 26" but the drift is a good spec for the money.

Any input greatfully received.

keep an eye on this, the 2007 droped to £450, great spec but bit pricy at mo.

argyles are the best, wont bend these unlike the dj and 4x's.

I like the look of that Identiti too but the price is a bit steep. The first bike is nice but heavier than my full sus. I thought they would have been lighter...

Yeah Dee, they are a bit steep, but the Comp build of the bike pictured is a snip a 600 squiddlies. Still pricey but I can't think of any weak links on the bike - so you'll save money by not having to upgrade parts. (I'm really trying to convince myself here - I'm torn between a set of Rock Shox Lyrics for the full-sus or one of these puppies.)

So let me get this straight, are you saying neither the ns or the Flow?

I have had an Identiti in the past and didn't much like the geometry and looking around everybody is talking up the ns as the best frames on the market.

Moneywise I'm not looking much above the 500 mark so the argyle spec bikes are probably out of my range.

Downhiller.

I have the NS Core 11,

Brilliant all round bike - well apart from full on downhill of course!

I use it for XC, street riding as well as dirt jumping.

The only downfall - if you can call it that - is that its a steel frame so its a tad heavier than say the Commencal range for example, tho its never been a problem for me!

Dont be fooled by the cable disc brakes, they bite very well indeed :)

Just noticed you had a budget of £500.

I was gonna go for this Absolut CG for dirt jumping and street however, i needed a bit more to cover the XC!

Its £100 over your budget, but prob the best out there for DJ, in my opinion!

AAAARRRGGGHHH Now I've seen that realcycles are knocking out the Metropolis for under 600, at this rate I'll never get a bike.

Decisions, decisions, decisions.

Another poser to try and narrow it down a bit:

Rims - Alex DM24 with joytech hubs or Insane rims on insane hubs - and I'm looking for something that will last but put up with a bit of chicksands and street abuse. Anyone got any experience???

Stop it Hod!

I'm really tempted, but can't justify having 3 bikes :banghead: (Tho it I could always put the Marin out to pasture - before it dies on me).

Stevie, that NS Core looks the biz, but personally for a jumpin' bike, those wheels would need upgrading as would the crank. The gears would have to go and the forks are about 50mm too tall.

The commie could be a great bike but the angles looks wrong (and Steve has plenty of my cash already :D)

Really looking forward to giving it a proper scalp, Hod. Initial street run bodes well - it's solid as fek (no flex at all under power) and and has the kind of instant snap that you just don't get from Alu. It's just a big BMX. Smashing :D
