A wee tech question here - has anyone ran a shimano 9-speed cassette (the potential newcomer) with an X9 derailleur (the incumbent)? Will they play together? - and with which chain? Raceface Atlas chainset completes the set up front btw.

They'll work fin together. Any 9sp chain will also work.
