Garmin Car Sat Nav

My girlfriend has a satnav she used in the states home with her. How do I go about getting the Ireland/UK/Europe Maps on it Free or for cheap. Is it just a matter of adding them to a memory card?

You have to buy them from Garmin. Come posted on a DVD.

yeah they come posted from the garmin website, then you activate online, last time i checked, UK/Ireland mapping was £49.99. Though i am not 100% on this.

Have you tried ebay, i know some suppliers UK/Ireland mapping out on SD or microSD Cards for putting straight into the unit.

IME it's no longer a siply case of getting the maps on a SD card and inserting it. You now have to register the maps to the PC and the actual unit. Most of those sold on Ebay won't work. Least as I say this is my experience.
