Hey was just wondering if anyone knows of anywhere (not Universal Sprayers) who you'd trust to powdercoat a frame ? Thanks

Univesal Industrial Sprayers, Springvale Industrial estate. £40 for shot blast and powder coating. Impressed with my job so far. Maybe get them to lacquer after cating, but it's tough enough.

Hmm yeah got my hardtail back from them today, not so impressed. At the time it looked alright but when I got it home I realised that the bottom bracket and headset hadn't been masked properly and that the 'powder coat' they'd used was so thin that i could scape it off around the edges with my nail. They'd sprayed it with normal paint not powder coated it as I asked. Didn't even do a good job of that, there's loads of spots not covered. Safe to say I won't be trusting them with my DH bike.

Strange. Perfect job of mine. I covered up all the sensitive bits myself though. If you are not happy go back and get it re-done. Did they shot blast the frame first or did you strip it yourself?

Yeah they shot blasted it. What did you cover yours up with ? They'd just stuffed card in round the bb, headset etc.

I used big bolts and washers!! And left bearings in the pivots.

I've had my meta frame in bits for a while, reckon I'd rather do it myself and take some time with it. Tinkerhill how did you do yours and did it take long?!

I spent about a day rubbing it down then primered it. Gave it another rub down and sprayed it the next day.

He sold it a couple of weeks back Monty, the frame was in the classifieds. Was tempted by it and after seeing it built up I know I should have went for it.
