I'm a bit late in posting this, but Comber Greenway Community Carnival is on tomorrow to celebrate the completeion and official opening (yesterday) of the Greenway (although there will be another ribbon-cutting tomorrow if you feel like your day wouldn't be complete without one...)
Full details here: http://www.sustrans.org.uk/default.asp?sID=1169805975140
- refreshments provided at a couple of points en route if you're bringing kids etc.

My kids saw it on the news and want to go. Unfortunately I'm meant to be Retro-riding tomorrow morning.

Aye, well Robinson has had a hard-on for years for putting public transport down it as well, despite the fact that it will do nothing to address congestion on the Newtownards Road. Hopefully neither plan will come to anything :)

I hope both plans go the way of the dodo, after all the hard work to get the greenway up and running, for it to be destroyed to allow buses along it would be a disgrace!

Take the retro ride to the Comber Greenway and show support from the mtb community only a thought.:)

and it's an excellent thought - shame on the retro riders if they don't appear - there are free refreshments ;)

Just back from the comber ride, a fabulous family friendly relatively flat traffic free 14 mile round trip. But we really should have looked at the schedule before we set off.

Great to see so many cyclists out, but unfortunately, as there were cyclists there of all ages and abilities, the progress was painfully slow and stop start. We had to leave the main group after the hog roast at Ballybeen, as we had other things to do today, and only after looking at the scheduile now do I realise the 14 mile round trip was due to take (gulp) 6 hours.

So get out there, enjoy the path and use it while its there!
