Aparrently the BBC has received almost 200 complaints following Jeremy Clarkson's comments about lorry drivers murdering prostitutes.
story. (http://www.inthenews.co.uk/news/entertainment/tv/clarkson-lorry-driver-quip-sparks-viewer-complaints-$1247792.htm)
Why are people getting upset? Is it because lorry drivers do murder prostitutes so maybe we shouldnt talk about it? This is getting ridiculous. Seems tha top gear must be watched by a massive number busy bodies waiting to be offended - they recieved 65 complaints for their "top gear does ground force" episode for sport relief, and 91 complaints because the american episode featured a dead cow.

After watching it Sunday I knew it would only be a matter of time before that made it to press.
Some people obviously have nothing better to do with the their time. I'm of the opinion if you get offended, turn it off. Nobody forces you to watch.
And I think an article in The Sun says that truck drivers found it amusing.

Lads I'm sorry but I feel I have to complain about this thread. I find it offensive and upsetting. Anybody know the phone number for the Murdoch press?

Yeah, I got so mad I puched a disabled child in the teeth when I saw that cow. Then I kneed an old chinese lady in the spine when I saw what they did to Sir Steven Redgraves house.

People who complain about TV should have their license taken off them... the remote was invented so you could conveniently change channel in the event of dislike! Personally I thought it was highly amusing, although I thought The Stig having sex with Jonathan Ross' (or was it Brands?) voicemail even more amusing. That said forgive me for saying it but I am getting slightly wearisome of the "Our producers gave us £[insert low sum of money] to buy [insert piece of crap] and do a series of challenges" format. I also would have loved to have seen the laptime for the GT2 because I have been drooling over them for the last while and you know obviously if I knew the laptime I might, errr, buy one ;)

It is absolutely ridiculous. 188 people complained after the broadcast. A further 300 people complained when the story made the newspapers, so they complained about something they hadnt even seen.
There needs to be a national campaign for rational free thinking people to complain against these complainers.

Only kept Radio 1 on to hear Hammond's interview, but I have to say that annoying tw*t Moyles makes me want to kill - Jaysus Chris Moyles and his talent free cronies are such a waste of space. :banghead:
Sorry - minor thread hi-jack there....
Carry on...

Isn't that what happened with the Ross/Brand thing too - only a small number of initial complaints (well a couple of hundred or so) - subsequently publicised by the Mail and voila! - Thousands more complainers...
I complained about a meal once - if the Mail get a hold of that info that I imagine the Restaurant might have to be shut down...

ari Mitchell, of English Collective of Prostitutes, meanwhile, said Clarkson's comments were "more serious than the Ross and Brand debacle" because he was "making light of murder".
"More than 60 women have been murdered who the police say are prostitutes in the last 10 years so it's an absolute disgrace," she said.
Clarkson should lose his job and "the people who allowed this programme to go out have to be brought to account," she added.
"I think it's a sacking offence to make light of the murder of anybody, never mind prostitute women who are vulnerable and criminalised."
Seriously, hahahaa youre killing me...awww sh*t best appologise. Some people are just rediculous and should get back to watching re-runs of watch dog incase their neighbour appears on it.

The BrandRossGate incident got 2 complains on the night and 18,000 after it hit the press, spurred on by the celebrity hunger "Satanic Slut" of a grand daughter!
