I mean people that are actually going to go, rather than the maybes :)

I'm heading down Sat morning on my own.

Where is everybody staying? Where is the best craic on sat night?

I'm heading down got a lift with a2mfk an Mudspud, should be good craic, whats everyone for riding, I'm in the middle of stripping all the new bits of my dh bike and cobbling them onto an old HT so I can actually go back up the hill on the up-hilly bits, but still have decent brakes and bouncy tyres for the downs. Its gonna look shocking haha

on the bike front I've changed my mind, decided to bring the old 5" stinky outta retirement, however just spent most of the day building up my shiny new dh rig and an annoying voce in my head is going "sure ya could pedal that up the hill" :D

Lads, there are no uplifts on the Saturday.. and be warned..its fairly hard work..with the softer than ideal conditions, you will be attacking some sections just to get the most out of them..so i would be thinking rest ,rather than practice..we have put in a couple of multiple lines in places..especially near the top dark forest..
Theres one section of singletrack and while its pointing downwards...its fierce twisty and you will have to watch out for the turns..
Plus there are 2 jumps that beg for speed but will catch you out if you over cook it..
we've also put in some timberwork in places to aid traction on one or two of the climbs..
I'll be up there Friday and Saturday if anybodys around and wants a few pointers.
Light and fast and bouncy is the order of the day..and even though the weather gods tell me its to improve..goggles,crudcatchers or glasses are the order of the day, lots of flinging muck..
Cheers Richie

As feazel said, himself, myself, and a2themfk heading down. Looks like we're staying in roundwood but no idea where that is (10 mins from the trails allegedly). Looking forward to it but no doubt fitness will be somewhere between awful and non existent .

Anyone got good tips for blast virgins either for the race, parking, weather or what to do between heats and races? (Eating a super large breakfast is my only plan)

You lads pre-riding the course or getting in some other trails round Glendalough? Reading the thread on epicmtb seems to regard pre-riding the course as against the spirit eh? Regardless, we were thinking of heading over for a recce through the afternoon just to see what we're in for.

Only way to do the epic is to pre ride the course once (ie stand and talk at the top and leave quickly) then head to the local bar eye up the talent and drink way to much alcohol

Heading down early to get in as much eating as possible, it's the Team Lard way.

Andy do you want those grips bringing down?

I completely forgot about this, I'm was heading down tomorrow for a couple of runs. I take it I don't have to register or anything unless I'm actually doing the blast on Sunday? I wouldn't mind meeting up Doc, I was planning on going for a fast lap cuz usually I just sit back with my slow mate but was just gonna leave him behine on the first lap this time.
