Hi

For my hack bike build I now need a few bits to finish it

Tyres - one would do but matching pair would be nice
8 speed chain
grips
possibly very cheap brakes, have mechanical disks but mig
ht be tempted if cheap enough. Have old front Hope that needs bled. Might be tempted if anyone had a match. Has a 5 engraved on it.

Also need a headset for a Giant XTC - not sure what I need 2004 model.

Also need the bolt that is screwed into the top of the fork. Dont know what they are called - is it a star nut thing?

Prefer Bangor area as cant be bothered driving about to get stuff. If no responses I will order new of CRC etc on Monday night.

Cheers Aaron

Aaron, I have loads of tyres. Pop in next time your staying in tolly and I'll sort you out. you need a SFN for your forks, best bet is a bike shop, shouldn't be more than a couple quid.

Have you taken the old headset out yet? There are three possibility- integrated, internal or normal if you get the alu spacers. I can't remember the type giant used in that frame, mine was the integrated type.

Think it might be integrated from looking at Google but not sure. How do you tell the difference?

Giants are very fond of their integrated headsets. This might help:

I also have a few tyres, how about 2 conti verts, one standard in great nick, one more used pro folding lightweight fella, £5 to you.

Cheers guys

Called in with Real and Steve reckoned it was OK so no need to change (thanks Steve). Built it up tonight and it looks OK. Happy days.

Andy gonna call with Connor at the weekend and see his tyre collection - you have set a nice low bargaining point though at £5 so I might be back to you!

Just need to fit the BB bracket now. Anyone in Bangor have any tools? Need to take out a Shimano and fit an ISIS (at least I think I do!).

Or if your passing the house I am happy to borrow it!

I like your optimism .. lol. Last time I used it involved bench vice, heat gun ... and a lot of blood sweat and tears, so I'll drop it through the letter box, and let you get on with it at your leisure ..
