As per norm we will be having 3 MTBrider rides: Sat before Christmas, Christmas Eve and Boxing day.

These are traditional rides, and have been done by MTbrider forum users (regulars and lurkers) for the last 15 years. OK, the 15 years bit is a lie, but it's what you need to be telling your other halves for the reason why YOU MUST join the ride on at least one of the days, if not all.

Think about it, on the Sat the choices are go with the misses to do last minute shopping OR ride your bike. On Christmas Eve the choice is help with the final preps for the next day OR ride your bike. On Boxing day the choice is spend the day with inlaws OR ride your bike. It's a no brainer really.

The normal locations are Christmas Eve is Belvoir, Boxing day is Tolly and the Sat before is open, this year I suggest Castlewellan.

I can show peeps around Tolly, and include a run over to Donard, unless the great man himself Mr. Beavis is will to show us round, he knows the entire place like the back of his hand.

So that leave this Sat at Castlewellan and Monday at Belvoir. We need a guide for each location. Anyone? BK for Castlewellan?

I'll start seperate threads on each ride once we have guides.

"I can show peeps around Tolly"

LMAO!!!

I'm up for tolly and castlewellan. Run to Donard is a great plan. I know all the trails there.

Ya, thought that as I typed it.

Sure, how lost can a group of riders get in a small forest?

As it gets dark at about 4pm in the forest.... very lost!

EDIT: on the daylight thing... we'd need to be starting off no later than 11am to get a decent ride in. Esp Donard if you have to ride back up the road.

Sounds good.

I know the XC course in Castlewellan, and "The Wall", a lovely wee climb.

Could be on for the lot.

No later than 11am sounds good. Leaves time to get back home to start drinking again ;)

Ive to work on christmas eve, but if i get out early I might get down, but its gonna be getting dark. So if anyone wants to bring lights I am up for that.

Will definitely do castlewellan this saturday coming.

Be down in Fermanagh from christmas day to the saturday before new year, and doing rostrevor with BenB and a few of his group. Will be having a rip around gortin on boxing day and maybe the next day or day after.

I'd love to go down to tolly for some DH cuz I've never been down with my bike before and a XC run to Donard is tempting aswell but I do have the gf to deal with first.
