Hi everyone, just joined up an I'm lookin for some trails to ride.
I live in Bangor, Co.Down but fancy headin over to Donegal way, (maybe Blue Stack Mtns) on Tues 11th Dec for a few days.
The kinda stuff I'm after would be xc I suppose, as long as there's some fast, technical descents I'd be happy:D
Anyone got any ideas, (good or not) on where to go, where to avoid, or am I lookin in the wrong area completely?
Any an all help would be greatly appreciated,
Cheers,
Nick.
P.S. If anyone wants any info on the Lake District, England just let me know ( I used to live there).

good man, mickey - i never knew a fella could plug a badger like ye! :-)
nick, you will likely be disappointed with the blue stacks and donegal in general if that is the sort of stuff you are after. the ground up there is as boggy as bedamned, and there is a distinct lack of trails. Lots of bog roads, but they are rarely any length, nor do they link well.
if you get yourself a couple of ordnance survey maps (see the map page on trailbadger), and don't mind chucking the bike over your shoulder, you can still have a great time exploring up mountains and on minor roads.

Yes Mr em.. 'Mudspud' (I suppose ignorance is bliss) I mean the 18th, probably to the Fri/ Sat 21st/22nd, as it stands... I'll keep ya posted if ye fancy hookin up?
Banjoboy, you sound like a man who knows where I should be goin'. I agree that boggy ol sh*t ain't much fun to ride over ( my fat slow tyres make work hard enough for me). Donegal just seemed like a likely candidate, I have no burning desire to go there especially. If you wanted some sweet as fast trails where would you go?
MREGAN - Good link mate, I'll look into it a little more, nice one.
Take it easy

Sweet trails you say??
Look no further than Rostrevor (http://www.trailbadger.com/trails/co-down/3/43/rostrevor-forest/)
Have a look on NTSR Gallery Page (http://www.notthesundayrun.com/newgallery/) click on any saturday spin and there should be a map of the spin. If you have a GPS we may be able to provide you with GPX details for the route.
