Tardree - This weekend

Might take a look up there today or tomorrow. Is it easy to find the trails? I know FS are wrecking the place, is it still worth a visit?

yes it is still worth a visit - only a couple of the trails have been totalled. there are lots of trails, although the singletrack will be a tad damp!

should be a few regulars up on sunday morning. some of them meet at duncans car park (the one with a big tree in the middle of the junction on the way in) for about 8 am.::yikes::

might be there myself a bit later on, hangover permitting.

Went up for a nosey today. Took a left before the car park and explored the area were it seems all the forestry action is going down. I found some steep rooty bits and pieces, soooooo muddy. Would have given you a shout bloom but I was pretty late on the road.

Then went down to the car park and spoke to some young chaps who pointed me in the direction of other trails but I didnt get to check them out as light was fading. Lost of bikers about there though.

Must go back for a better session soon

BTW we saw a lot of potential in your new venture. Most enjoyable. If they were joined together there would be a great loop. Thanks to Simon as well. He showed us some stuff we didn't know existed even though we've been going there for years!

On call this weekend, so stuck in Belfast. Day trip to Kirroughtree on Thursday though, so life's not exactly that bad... anyone been in the last week or 2, how were conditions?

was in kirroughtree just sunday past. flippin' CLASS!! it is getting a bit more rutty in bits, which is good, and the swoopin, sweepin trails are in tip-top notch.

A few of us were up on Sunday morn. Conditions were pretty dire, but fun all the same.

we heard you screechin' coming off the trig down the new bit i think, just as we were leaving. athemfk and pal were diggin away like a couple of beavers up the hill, and we were makin a wee trail back out onto the forest path again, from the bottom of that bit across the cleared area. needs work!

Must of just missed ya. We took a run across the trail you were working on. No fun - but do-able. A bit more work on it and she'll be grand. When are you heading back that way?
