The 10th was a no go, ferries too damn pricey. Keeny assures us that there is still space on the Ikea deal for the 18th, so who wants to go on that day?

Kenny, can you book the ferry now so we don't miss it?

I didn't say I was going, just was being helpful pointing out the dates of ferry availability.

Pick Ikea, MTB'ing or Extreme Ironing daytrip.

One more person and I'll book it.

Thinking of a day trip some time around this time as well, but to Ae to do the full XC loop. Kirroughtree is good, lots of fast and flowy single track but no jumps or technical sections.

Marty, see other thread.

Basically Ae is jumpy DH sections with jumps and berms with fire roads in between. Kirry is a better XC route but Ae is good for a laugh and has a few descents worth doing!

As long as it's a Sunday i'm on for it, whats the AE loop like Conor, jumps etc :) , i work Saturdays, so does Chris and Paddy wks alternate wk ends, with a bit of forward planning this could be a good day trip :)

It was on the tenth, you've beebn online since this thread started, so I thought you'd have seen it, and read it, and said if you wanted to go!

Thinking about it I should have PM'd ya. Sorry.

But then, I can fit 5, just be a bit of a squeeze in the back. But hey, we're not in the car for long. So I say all aboard!

Someone will drop out anyway so you'll be fine either way.

My car is now defo full. Very full!

Great days riding, I reckon about 50k? I reckon I covered the black, red and blue in their entirety by the end of the day, plus my bonus loop!

Thanks again guys!

Gtreat days riding, motionbased thing up later. Bloody wet, and cold at times, but still great.

Motionbased thingie of the day. (http://trail.motionbased.com/trail/activity/4473222#)

Pretty disappointed with the milage really. Felt like way way more. Guess that's what riding in the wet and cold does for ya!

i reckon the mileage at k'tree does not account for the suffering - even the 10 mile course we did at the No Fuss event felt like 20!! - short sharp hills!!

Steveb
November 19-2007, 09:34 PM
Aye, although I have to say, Heartbreak Hill was a big disappointment. From what people said about it I expected a long haul bastard slog of a climb that just went on for miles. As it was it was by no means easy, but it was a lot shorter than expected, other than having to get a foot down once thanks to losing the front end I didn't need to stop for a breather once. I guess that was really a good thing, but I dunno, I just expected more of a challenge, I expected it to be a lot longer.

i think that is the real issue i have with trail centres really - no distance, it's why in my book anyway you can't beat the open countryside - guess i was spoilt cutting my mountain bike teeth on Dartmoor :)

now i have myself pining for what i can't have and want to move back there!

darn it

23 miles? No way. More than that for sure.

The red black and blue we did should be 41km, the extra bits I did added anouther 5-6 km, thats a min of 25 miles in my book!

Oh, and when did you do 56mph?!!
