Out of those 3 I would have to say Forza. It's a much more substantial game. Dirt and Sega Rally are nothing more than arcade rally games. Forza's only £30 in Tesco at the minute too.
I personally would go for Project Gotham 4 which is out tomorrow. :p

I own both sega rally and colin mcrae dirt for the ps3.
Dirt is the best racing game i have ever played, so realistic and the different types of races are also really good and the realistic damage tho it is a very hard game!

forza 2 is crap its no were near as good a gthd and gt5, dirt is your typical cm game with alot better grafs, and sega rally crap. Dirt and gthd and gt5 are the best, havent played pgr4 yet but it should be pretty good.

forza 2 johnny - its simply awesome, gran turismo on the xbox basically.
The other two games are slightly more arcade.

I have Dirt for the pc and although it is fun (really fun and pretty) they keep going further and further from sim every time. The cars just dont seem attached to the ground and seem to have no inertia. But it is fun.
I havent played forza 2 but i did play forza on the xbox and I was really disappointed, it was truely terrible. I hope to get a demo or a play of forza2 because i have heard good things about it.
I havent played sega rally revo either but i love the franchise, but i would ask questions about potential longevity. But the dirt effects and how it changes the tracks are very cool.
As for gthd I hope they plan on putting alot more effort into it than the demo suggested. It was literally just old gt in hd. it may be the pinnacle but they have alot of things they need to do.

Dont see how you can call Forza 2 crap.. It might not be to your taste but is a well produced and decent 'lite' simulation.
Also to say that GT5 is better is quite obtuse as it isnt even scheduled for release until next year....
GTHD seems quite good although they need to start implementing damage into the gameplay (bouncing of cars with no damage doesnt cut it any more)

if you had read up on gt5 its all there, gthd is only a preview. Forza 2's driving simulation is abismal. Its not that is not to my taste i like the fact you can do up your car but the simulation is pants

Bikerben I have noticed you seem to place alot of credence to marketing and pr promises. It is easy to say that Gt5 will have x, y and z but the only tangible evidence I have seen ( and played ) is not a large step from gt4. It would be amazing if everything they have said comes true but atm I would be just as happy if they would organise the menu systems so that you can see all of the options on one screen rather than a bloody map

Forza 2's simulation is fine. Yes it's a tad arcadey if you leave all the driving assists on but that's why they are there, to make the game more enjoyable for new players. Turn them all off and it's a completely different game. It's far from crap. In my opinion it's no better or worse than any of the Gran Tourismo games as they are basically the same thing.
I have to admit that GT5 does look pretty nuts.

clearly you never turned off any driver aids.
with them all off and the car in manual....each car handles different and reacts as it would in real life making it a very challenging game as you need to learn the car and track very well to compete. (well, as far as a computer game can take it but you get the idea). whats more, each car sounds different too....a scooby, ferrari, lambo, rs4 and slr all sound like they do in real life.
ive played everything bar sega rally, and Forza is easily the best...gran turismo is as acrade like as you can get imo. as for dirt, the car feels like its got a big wheel in the middle to rotate around.

It depends on what you want from the game.
If you want a driving simulator get forza it is absolutely fantastic with driver aids off you can slide the car round the corners holding it just on the limit! great fun. also v good with the steering wheel.
Dirt is also good but more arcade based. The layout of dirt is better, with lots of individual races. I didnt like it with the steering wheel.
I played the demo of sega rally and thought it was awful. Just a total arcade game.
Pgr4 i have on order!
Im a game addict.

Looking forward to COD4 myself. I enjoyed the previous games but never really liked the WWII setting. The modern warfare looks a lot more appealing to me.

Unreal Tournament 3 is what I'm really looking forward to. Comes out next month. I'm still playing Unreal Tournament 1999 most evenings.

Got Forza 2 today, loving it already. Awesome driving simulator, so far the handling feels around the most realistic that Ive found in a game yet. Looks great. Nice having PGR4 for arcade styled race about and FM2 for when you want to take things a bit more seriously :)
Does anyone know how to register your 360? I remember registering my first one online, but I cant find it anywhere on the official 360 site or when I google for it. Is there something tied into the warranty that makes it worthwhile registering?
