For XC use - need to be fairly big for my size10s. Currently use cage type cheapos to small and feet easily slip off. Not too concerned about weight (apart from my body weight!) thinking V8's or similar. Any thoughts please oh and not too expensive £30 ish.

Can't really go wrong with V8s.

I found v8's felt too small for my size 11's. I've found Gusset Slim Jims and Wellgo MG1's, both good for bigger feet.

Thanks guys

I will take at look at the gusset vs V8 sizes etc.

I found the Wellgo B47s that came with my Absolut to be pretty much perfect bar the cheesy bearings. Now running Gusset Slim Jims and rather happy with them too. Plus they come in ridiculously blinding colours!

Gusset Slim Jim's get my vote. I used V8's for about a year and thought they were good, until put my foot on the slim's. They seem to have a bigger platform which my size 9's feel more comfortable on. Mind you, at some stage Im gonna have to get the clipless thing going... although they look crap IMO compared to a nice white flattie :)

This is true loving the lime green one on the meta, even tho the pink did tempt me so much....:)

my big feet love my crank bros 5050x's. dont buy the cheaper ones though, they have a silly ridge on the axle.

Embrace the dark side and go clipless, i've tried flat pedals on several occasions and could never get on with them

I seem to remember Brooklyn Machine Works made pedals called shin burgers, they had a very large platform and had great shin destroying properties

I've never had any problems with my Wellgo B-18's.

If you go for the 5050's change the pins to the longer length. I found that the short pins didn't give enough grip.

dmrs are grand for light use but are absolute cheese otherwise. mine literally fell apart. ive got the crank bros 5050xx pedals. pretty awesome but do need a few tweaks to really get the most out of them and to make them far better. as said above tho dont go for the cheaper ones. the xxs are worth the extra money.
